United Airlines Analyst - Crew Pay in Chicago, Illinois

The Finance department, which manages the company's budgets, forecasts and investments, and provides analysis of our financial performance and strategies.

Job overview and responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing daily, weekly and monthly activities the require detailed audits of pilot pay and third-party vendor pay adjustments. Real-time support of all departments within Flight Operation. Escalation person required to resolve and manage Help Hub Ticket traffic. This position supports pilot pay accuracy and transparency through continuous processes that identify pay errors for correction.

Help Hub Tickets

  • Time sensitive task that requires review, research, audit, manual pay adjustments as applicable, response to pilot and or other departments as needed.

  • Audit of pilot pay registers and pay reports.

  • Review, audit, manually adjust pay and communicate to pilots.

  • Management the internal business of informational request, investigations, system testing , training and support to other departments.

  • Research, analyze, correct and respond. Provide expertise, teach processes, resolve issues and respond to union request.

Process Monthly Pay Close

  • Extremely time sensitive task, review and audit of all crew pay exception reports averaging 4000 pilots per pay analyst.

  • Monthly Payroll Reports, Training , Meetings.

  • Required meeting, contractual knowledge transfer, recurrent training


  • Ability to develop, train and implement new processes

  • Strong multi-tasker, proven experience handling multiple roles and projects simultaneously

  • Excellent analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Strong communication skills , verbal and written

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job

  • Must have strong analytical skills and be detail oriented

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of software (Windows Outlook, Excel, Word,)

  • 3 or more years of payroll or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of pilot pay experience in crew pay centralized payroll functions

  • Current or previous Pilot Crew Scheduling experience

  • Have extensive (min 5 years) COSMOS /CMS system knowledge

  • Understanding of FAA regulations and working within union rules and limitations

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of pilot contractual pay provisions

  • Airline payroll and crew pay experience

  • Have working knowledge of CMS/CCS, PR, On Demand and Data Warehouse
