Job overview and responsibilities
The Technical Operations team currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer Director. The Director is responsible for the investigation, cost analysis and execution of modifications and repairs to aircraft, engines and related equipment in their area. Provides technical engineering services, recommendations and trouble-shooting support to other divisions and personnel involved with aircraft systems. The Director is responsible for providing specialized service, project and technical support for the operation, performance, modification and repair of all aircraft components, within ATAs 21 Air Conditioning, 36 Pneumatics, 29 Hydraulic Power, 47 Inert Gas Systems, 24 Electrical Power. Monitors aircraft performance to provide continuous improvement and to initiate pro-active actions to support line operations. Evaluates the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure an optimum balance of cost, asset utilization, quality and reliability. Provides reports and presentations on the trends and performance of an assigned fleet. Represents the company to the FAA, NTSB
Organize and manage the priorities for the group and orchestrate the work processes to meet all the deliverables for the projects.
Coordinate work extensively with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency
This position guides the development of complex designs and implementation plans, project justification, obtaining funding approval, management of project implementation, technical support, and obtaining FAA approvals as required
B.S. degree in Engineering OR equivalent relative work experience.
Minimum of 7 years Engineering experience AND a minimum of 3 years in leadership role leading Engineers.
Extensive knowledge of FARs, airworthiness design and substantiation criteria, aircraft and equipment design and operational characteristics, aircraft materials and processes.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
