Our Sales team is the largest revenue-generation department at United. They work closely with travel agencies, United travel departments, and corporate clients.

Job overview and responsibilities

The Principal Salesforce Administrator will manage Sales Technology functionality, work with IT and outside vendors to onboard subscriptions and enhancements and guide the Sales Division on how to maximize utilization and benefits. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and build customized solutions in and associated systems that support business requirements and processes; drive system design and configuration with scalable solutions addressing potential future needs

  • Manage CRM including support requests and escalated administrative needs of users by providing prompt and complete resolution to technical challenges and business support issues

  • Develop and maintain documentation, solutions for common user problems, and SFDC policies/procedures as required

  • Maintain data quality by identifying, deleting, cleansing, and updating inaccurate data

  • Oversee the feature request/support backlog and work with the relevant leaders to prioritize and execute

  • Assist in the implementation of security practices by monitoring login and user activity, auditing fields, profile access and security permissions for Salesforce and Community B2B

  • Supporting a diverse partner group in all phases of Salesforce development: planning/grooming, delivery, support, bug investigation and resolution

  • Design, configure and administration of new and existing features including user management, roles/profiles, Permission Sets, custom objects, new page layouts, custom fields, formula fields, validations, workflows rules, email templates, Process Builder, Flows, Lightning Pages, Custom Metadata Types, Custom Settings, Managed Packages

  • Focus on user efficiencies, solving business/customer issues, invent creative solutions, and ensure data accuracy across the system

  • Partner with global business stakeholders to proactively identify, drive, and build improvements, enhancements, and system customization that solve critical business needs

  • Evaluating complex business and technical requirements, communicating inherent security risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners.

  • Meet with users to determine business, functional and technical requirements; understand the business challenges and opportunities of the organization and identify improvements in systems and processes

  • Apply functional knowledge of data structure and understanding of how to leverage the tool to meet complex process and reporting requirements

  • Provide technical mentorship to a team of system admins, who improve and maintain our SFDC environment

  • Manage business requirements, business needs, and business stakeholders from all regions and teams


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Certified Administrator

  • Minimum of 2+ years System Administrator experience with

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality

  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

  • Experience in developing processes and creating end-user documentation

  • Must be a confident, self-starter individual who can completely "own" the delivery of high value work products

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation and reasoning)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Bachelor's Degree - Major in Computer Sciences

  • Certified Advanced Administrator

  • 5-10 years of IT experience

  • 4-5 years of Salesforce Admin experience

  • Experience in APEX and SQL

  • Previous experience working with sales teams

  • Experience working with vendors/partners to develop software applications

  • Experience working with B2B sales with sales effectiveness and/or sales optimization projects

  • Prior program management or process improvement experience

  • Experience with Apex/Visualforce, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills and excellent problem-solving skills

  • Experience developing in Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning Design and/or Visualforce pages
