Job overview and responsibilities

The DEKRA Project Manager (PM) is central to successful execution of the Safety Compliance Culture project work at Chicago, O’Hare Airport. The PM will partner closely with the DEKRA team, their Engagement Lead and Project Manager in particular. In this role the PM is responsible for building the overall project plan for each department and assisting them in their efforts to integrate DEKRA into their operation and track adherence to plan/s. The PM will assist each department with the coordination, logistics and communication strategy for the execution of this contracted work. This role has responsibility to participate in status meetings (drive the agenda, track actions and outcomes) maintain the project dashboard, develop reports and reporting cadence, coach and mentor leadership and frontline employees driving the initiative for their respective teams and supporting them with change management. The PM is responsible for building collaborative and productive relationships with many other internal departments including, but not limited to, IT, Creative Services, Branding and Corporate Communications. As well as liaising with the Executive Sponsor and acting as a key member of the project governance team.


  • 2 years of large-scale project management experience, or equivalent leadership experience

  • Able to work effectively within all levels of an organization

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to adapt communications and delivery styles as needed for the audience

  • Strong planning and organization skills

  • Experience in training, coaching and mentoring teams and leaders

  • Ability to support change management on any shift in any department

  • Detail oriented problem solver Expert level proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and project management tools. Strong self-starter with ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an integrated

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Must have a valid state issued driver's license (expired, suspended, revoked or denied are not considered valid)

  • Must NOT have lived outside of the United States in the past 5 years for any period longer than six months, with the exception of military duty or government-approved exceptions

  • Must be able to successfully obtain airport SIDA credentials

  • Must successfully pass airport, Postal, TSA and any other background checks


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Project Management, Science, Aviation or Business/2 years of experience in Project Management may be substituted for education)

  • 3 years of experience in managing large scale change management projects or equivalent leadership experience

  • Experience with change management in large scale, operationally complex environments
