Job overview and responsibilities

Security architecture combines hardware and software knowledge with programming proficiency, research skills, and policy development. Security architects anticipate potential threats and design systems to preempt them. Equipped with bachelor’s degrees in computer science or a similar discipline and years of field experience, security architects understand computer and network systems, cybersecurity, and risk management. Industry certifications, continuing education programs, and graduate degrees provide additional expertise in security strategies, methods, and architecture. The Senior Manager of Cloud Security Architecture requires strong communication and organizational leadership skills. Tasked with leading teams of information technology professionals and security architects you will articulate and disseminate computer security policies and procedures across the organization. You will assess the organizations information technology and application systems, identifying strengths and weaknesses. You will lead penetration tests, risk analyses, and ethical hacks on networks and applications. You will also assess routers, firewalls, and comparable systems to determine efficacy and efficiency. As a Cloud Security Architecture Senior Manager, you will think like a hacker and take proactive measures to mitigate risks. You will identify security vulnerabilities in existing cloud infrastructure and applications systems and implement architectural changes to boost security structures. As Senior Manager of Cloud Security Architecture, you will prepare budgets, oversee expenses, and allocate personnel resources as needed. You will provide guidance to information technology (IT) security team members. Your willl also lead IT analysts, security administrators, and security engineers to coordinate effective security protocols.

  • Provide technical cloud security architecture/engineering support

  • Establish cloud security controls to protect applications across a large and complex environment

  • Provide strategic vision and strategy that is aligned to organization and team priorities

  • Coordinate with other Security, Infrastructure, and Cloud Engineering teams to mitigate risk and ensure policy compliance

  • Coordinate, measure and report on the technical aspects of cloud security technology management

Required

  • BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field or 7 years of equivalent experience, education or training

  • A minimum of seven years of IT management experience, with five years in an information security role

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of cloud information security and architectural concepts and principles as a means of relating business needs to security technologies

  • Good understanding of cloud application security frameworks, standards, and best practices from OWASP, WASC, SANS. and other information security standards

  • Experience implementing cloud security controls and procedures

  • Cloud Architecture and Security certified or comparable experience

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with product managers and developers

  • The ability to build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understand business and security goals

  • Experience delivering, implementing and administering complex technical security solutions

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • CISSP, SANS and/or relevant SANS certifications or strong demonstrated application of software security in code written by individual

  • Experience working with cross-functional, with Cloud Engineering, Application Development, and Solution Architects

  • Experience working in AWS and hybrid environments
