Overview

Responsible for leading the development and sustainability of Lean processes and culture across United's warehouses. Responsibilities would include supporting leadership in creating and managing a Lean environment, training employees on LSS and leading project teams of typically two to ten team members focused on implementing Lean solutions across the warehouse functions. Project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information and data, formulating and testing hypotheses and working with frontline as well as departmental leadership to develop short and long term solutions and implement sustainable change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects in conjunction with business teams to identify opportunities for improvement, gather and analyze information and data, develop improvements and innovations

  • Helps develop new projects and opportunities through employee idea boards, gemba walks, idea sessions, etc.

  • Coach and trains project team members and warehouse leaders in LSS

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of professional work experience using Lean principles and statistical analysis OR 3 years of direct lean application experience in a warehouse facility/within a supply chain function

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business Administration

  • Black Belt certification from an LSS training/certification vendor that includes completion of a real-life project, formal in-class training and exam

  • Strong functional knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operations

  • Up to 80% travel

  • Must be able to work for any company in the U.S. without sponsorship

  • Able to apply advanced Lean principles and advanced Six Sigma principles for process improvement
