Job overview and responsibilities

The Senior Staff Representative – eCommerce Technical Web Production will be responsible for implementing content and front end code changes on United’s digital touchpoints (including websites, mobile and kiosks) as it relates to front end design and marketing activities in support of Marketing Communications, Merchandising, Reservations, Airport Operations, and Loyalty initiatives. The Sr. Technical Web Producer will be accountable for ensuring the customers receive accurate and up-to-date information while maintaining a high level of quality. The position will also be responsible for implementing coding best practices and staying on top of trends in the marketplace and standardizing technical web production processes to ensure speed to market without putting quality at risk. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, initiative, excellent communication, project management/ process optimization skills, and a strong commitment to

  • Tasks relating to implementation of digital content including building, modifying, and maintaining the content on United’s digital interactive channels.

  • Ensuring the quality of delivery of new customer enhancements and maintenance for a wide variety of stakeholders throughout the organization including Marketing, Merchandising, eCommerce, Customer Service and Loyalty will need to show ability to problem solve to meet the business demand as evolution continues in the digital interactive space

  • In addition, high proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, organization and strategic thinking is a must

  • Creative solutions when working within production constraints is a bonus

  • Responsible for responding to, supporting, and implementing customer communications for operational issues, outages, and crisis response

  • Mentoring the Technical Producers in coding best practices, standards and overall development

  • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Stay up to date on trends in technology, as well as coding, CMS and browser standards

  • Support best practices for English and local language display on United’s digital interactive channels, SEO, and tagging

  • Ability to problem solve to meet the business demand as evolution continues in the digital interactive space

  • High proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, organizational and strategic thinking is a must

  • Creative solutions when working within production constraints is a bonus

Required

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience in a high volume content management environment or in an international CMS development platform

  • High level knowledge of production principles

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative capabilities

  • Firm understanding of creative production processes

  • Experience with content management systems and Knowledge Base applications

  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and .net languages

  • Overall understanding of SEO, Social Media and Creative Design for the web and the importance of it

  • Organizational/Planning skills

  • Energetic with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed

  • Displays leadership qualities and skills

  • 4+ years in digital interactive publishing (web) including internet protocols, browsers, cross-browser and cross platform implementation and testing, foreign character displays

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • MBA
