The Food Services department develops, creates and provides the great dining experiences on board our aircraft.

Job overview and responsibilities

This position supervises a key functional department and may serve as Manager on Duty. The supervisor has responsibility for financial, operational, quality and regulatory performance of the operation; this position also supervises the production staff, manages resources, shift schedules and addresses performance issues. The supervisor will be responsible for production schedules, timeliness and quality of the product.

  • Work closely with departmental manager to supervise shift and run the day-to-day departmental operation

  • Responsible for employee scheduling, attendance, discipline, payroll, interviewing, accident investigation and safety awareness

  • Conduct shift briefings and other employee communication

  • Act as Manager on Duty when needed

  • Assist in coordinating production schedules with other departments to meet overall operational needs

  • Responsible for departmental quality, productivity, overall performance, food safety compliance, regulatory compliance and departmental safety programs

  • Responsible for ensuring departmental goals and objectives are met

  • Participate with kitchen and corporate resources to implement Lean processes and objectives into the production process


  • High school diploma, General Education Development (GED) or educational equivalent

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment and in temperature-controlled (cold) production areas

  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization, employees, as well as outside suppliers

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Computer skills including use of email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • English language fluency

  • Ability to work various shifts within a 24-hour-a-day / 7-day-a-week operation, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • BA, MBA

  • Fluent in Spanish or a second language

  • Knowledge of catering operations

  • Two to three (2-3) years in catering / food services operations
