Starting rate of pay: $13.79 / per hour

Please note that this position will be hired under the Chelsea Food Services divisional work rules.


  • Pack and check flights

  • Load and off-load food, beverage carts and equipment into vehicles and on/off aircraft

  • Drive catering vehicle and properly positions catering vehicle to aircraft

  • Check and assure vehicle is in operable condition

  • Inform manager of any maintenance needs or mechanical problems with vehicle

  • Pack, organize and secure equipment into carriers and place onto carts

  • Clean and maintain catering vehicles

  • Clean work area

  • Handle sanitizing chemicals

  • Assist in preparing ice and dry ice for flights

  • Drive hi-lift cargo vehicle and cargo vans

  • Operate forklift, hand truck and pallet jack

  • Support unit in the Supply Chain Optimization initiative

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma/GED (General Educational Development) or educational equivalent required


  • Basic math skills to calculate totals and percentages required

  • Must read, speak and write English fluently

  • Ability to communicate orally with co-workers

  • Ability to communicate orally with coworkers and managers using two-way radios

  • Ability to push and pull heavy carts and wagons required

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and beverage carriers required

  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift required

  • Frequent stooping to pick up equipment from ground level required

  • Frequent repetitive motions, reaching and handling required

  • Attention to detail required for packing of flights and catering flights to position carriers and carts in correct/assigned locations

  • Ability to work under time constraints required

  • Ability to respond correctly to meal count and aircraft changes at a moment's notice required

  • Ability to work in refrigerated areas of 35 degrees F at intervals of one hour required

  • Ability to withstand exposure to extreme weather and temperatures on the airfield during the catering of flights required

  • Ability to withstand exposure to aircraft noise during catering of flights required


  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must have a valid and active state driver's license (suspended, expired, revoked or denied are not considered valid)

  • Must be flexible and willing to work any shift in a 24-hour-a-day / 7-day-a-week operation, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays and overtime

  • Training will be provided on the job

  • Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position

  • Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal service clearances may be required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is essential function of the position
