The Inflight Services department includes flight attendants and the teams that support them

Job overview and responsibilities

Responsible for the performance and leadership of the Inflight Base. Leads and directs base activities to achieve all performance goals including safety, reliability, customer and employee satisfaction. Leads a small team of supervisors who are responsible for all base flight attendant activities and performance.

Base Performance

  • Directs the activities of the inflight base to meet performance goals

  • Tracks base reliability performance and along with the Sr. Manager develops corrective actions to improve

  • Collaborates with other Operations leaders (Airport Operations, Flight Operations, etc.) to effectively manage on-time departures

  • Monitor the performance of the team, taking actions as necessary to ensure daily goals and compliance with company policies, procedures and standards are met

  • Collaborates with other Inflight departments, such as Policies and Procedures and Safety / Training, to ensure effective and efficient processes are implemented in the field

Safety

  • Responsible for ensuring safety goals are met and that all employee safety and FAA regulatory requirements are adhered to by team

  • Coordinate with Inflight Safety on all safety investigations that involve the flight attendant team

  • Provide local support to flight attendant team for any inflight safety incident

Customer and Employee Satisfaction

  • Ensures delivery of inflight and marketing products determined by the Inflight division

  • Collaborates with Corporate Inflight to provide communication, training, and support to flight attendants so they are set up for success in delivering a world class product to United’s customers

  • Coordinates and support the recognition and counseling of flight attendants focusing on service excellence and holds team accountable when service expectations are not met

Any additional duties as assigned by Inflight Leadership

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required

  • High School Diploma or education equivalent

  • 5 years experience managing flight attendants

  • Successful completion of Company administered Flight Attendant training to earn FAA certification

  • Effective presentation skills, planning and organizational skills

  • Experience leading and influencing a team and customer service experience

  • Conflict resolution and decision making, with the ability to lead

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English and Cantonese

  • Legally authorized to work in Hong Kong for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience supervising union personnel
